We believe reliable mineral supply begins with reliable information. Our bauxite cargo can be subjected to structured inspection, representative sampling, sample preparation, and laboratory analysis to establish the characteristics of the material before shipment.
For one inspected 500 MT bauxite ore lot, SGS documented a sampling program consisting of:
- 500 MT total lot size
- 1 sampling lot
- Sampling interval: every 5 MT
- Approximately 3 kg per increment
- Sampling from different sides, portions, and depths
- Composite sample preparation through crushing, mixing, reduction and pulverization
- Laboratory submission of a composite quality sample
- Retention of additional composite samples for reference
Sampling and analysis procedures may vary according to cargo, customer requirements, location, and applicable inspection instructions.

Prepared samples can be submitted for laboratory testing to establish relevant quality characteristics.
Sample Retention
Reference samples can be retained to support traceability and future review where required.
